Submit slideshow

Although there are no formal image guidelines we would like each slideshow to have some form of story or theme in order for the event to be as creative and exciting as possible.

Ideally we would like you to send us a link to your completed slideshow. If you haven’t produced one before, or for those who cannot upload, don’t worry, you can send us your series of images via email. We will then provide you with information and assistance on how to compile your own slideshow for the event. If you have produced a high resolution slideshow and the file is too big to email, let us know, we have an upload facility we can direct you too so we can get the best versions of your work.

Your finished slides piece of work can include audio if you wish, although the content should complement the images. This could be in the form of an interview, a narrative or ambient sound recorded alongside the images. You could even choose music although please remember audio content is optional, so if your work doesn't need it then you don't have to add it.

Please send your submissions to
life.stillbristol@googlemail.com

We will try and include as many submissions as possible within the time frame of the event.

LENGTH: Completed slideshows should be no more than five minutes long.

DEADLINE: Midnight GMT on 16th May 2010.

FILE SIZE: Images should be low resolution and less than 200kb each. Please send no more than 20 images - if your finished work exceeds this number then please let us know.

EMAIL: life.stillbristol@googlemail.com

INFO: Please include your full name, any credits and a brief statement about your work.

Need help creating a slideshow?

Head to www.soundslides.com for an easy way to put together a slideshow. You can download a fully working trial of their software for free and compile a slideshow in minutes. Jpegs and audio can be uploaded to their software and arranged along a timeline which is then exported as a flash movie file. With easy export options you can save the finished slideshow into a folder ready to be published on the web. This is usually published straight to a web server but can also be saved to cd or packaged in a zip type file and sent via email or for larger files on a file sharing service such as yousendit.com.

Wondering whether your work is right for the open slideshow?

Yes it is! We have no rules regarding the type of work. We just want to see stories or pieces of work that have a theme.

Still having trouble compiling a slideshow?

Email us low resolution versions of the files you would like to make up a slideshow with so we have your entry. We can guide you through the process step by step.

I have the slideshow ready and the files are too large to email?

Please contact us via email and we can send you details of our online upload service where you can upload files of up-to 200mb.
